Enhancing Early Childhood Independence: A Framework for Effective Parenting Management

Abstract

This study addresses the critical role of parenting management in fostering early childhood independence, aiming to enhance parental understanding and proficiency in nurturing independence in young children. Recognizing the significance of structured parenting programs, this research explores the planning, implementation, evaluation, and challenges encountered in managing parenting initiatives.

Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, the study identifies key components of effective parenting management. Planning for fostering independence begins with collaborative work meetings between schools and parents/guardians, establishing activities and resources such as seminars, consultation days, and joint events like outbound and cooking classes. These activities, integrated into the school's academic calendar, serve multiple objectives, including aligning parental goals with the school's vision and mission in early childhood education.

Implementation of the parenting program involves parent meeting classes and parental involvement in joint events, providing platforms for discussion, skill-building, and fostering community engagement. Evaluation occurs both during and after parenting activities, utilizing discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and post-program supervision to assess effectiveness and address challenges.

Challenges in parenting management include coordination issues between institutions and guardians, highlighting the importance of collaboration for program success. Overall, effective parenting management enhances parental understanding of their role in fostering independence, offering valuable insights for education stakeholders.
